creepin up on us

Summer arrived and left, came back and left again. Right now I don't think it knows what it's doing, all I know is I'm getting that Autumn feeling every now and then and I love it. On my early morning walk to work I'm stepping on crunchy leaves, feeling the chills in the air and that need to bring my scarf everywhere even if it's still sunny. Autumn's coming and I can't bloody wait. Bring on the layering of jumpers and cosy boots :)

Summer to Fall outfit

Summer to Fall outfit by sylvieepops featuring beige tops

I'm on the hunt for a good pair of dungarees before the Autumns in full swing. I love my mums floral dungas I stole off her for Life music festival last May(the ones that finish into a skater style skirt but is actually a sneaky pair of shorts hehe) but I'm feeling the urge for sturdy denim short dungarees. Similar to the ones above but with neat ends! There are some adorable ones at the moment in Primark but unfortunately I can't squeeze myself into a years 7-9. Bloody kids sections are always cooler than the adult section. So not fair.
My love for sweaters is returning fast, last week I treated myself to two new additions to the wardrobe, a soft pea green with a crop cut that goes so well with my countless supply of flouncy black dresses and another black sweater for the collection too. This time with an open split down the spine revealing a loose swooping effect with the wool. That probably makes no sense so I'll have to get a picture up sometime. It's lovely and soft and I'm glad I forked over nearly 40 quid for the two, I've already found myself ditching the summery clothes just  so to wear my new sweaters out! Although I still can't shake the need to wear shorts no matter what the weather..Whats wrong with me!

road tripping around South Africa & other adventures

This time last year I had been in South Africa ten days. We covered a lot in that short space of time. I had explored the country surroundings, met new friends, experienced a meteor shower, been to jewellery and glass blowing workshops, seen Lewy and Franci's business and what their jobs consists of in an average day for them, met the locals, enjoyed a day out Shopping with Franci and her mum in Polokwane, seen some crazy bugs, plants and vegetation and even Pickle-lilly their house cat gave birth! So yeah, a LOT happened! More on all of the above later though.

snippets of a bedroom where noone sleeps.. & other thoughts

When I can, I like to go home to my folks at the weekends and spent some quality time there. Due to my life constantly being in the fast lane going home isn't as often as I'd like it to be. When I was last home (about three weeks ago now) I brought my camera to take some pictures of my bedroom to remind myself of things I like* and decided to share them here, cause why not right.

this time last year.. South Africa 2012

It's hard to believe that on this exact date last year I was solo plane hopping from airport to airport making my way over to South Africa for what turned out to be the best 6 weeks of my life. Rather than get too weepy and depro about not being back on that plane and reliving it all again (because i TOTALLY want to do that! ..who wouldnt!) I'm going to focus on all the positive outcomes that have happened since my adventures in South Africa :)
